Description: 

Whether you are a complete beginner with clay, or an experienced potter who wants to further your skills and abilities, this class is designed for you! This class covers the entire process of working with clay: hand building, wheel work, and principle knowledge about glazing, drying, and the kiln firing process. Students will learn how to make pinch pots, lids, different types of bowls, mugs, plates, and more! 

Materials:

Notes:

-Students will have access to Open Studios on Thursdays from 5pm to 8pm during the weeks class is in session to continue their work. 

-The amount of clay per student for this class is 25 pounds. If you would like to purchase additional clay for yourself, please contact LexArt a week before the first class.  

About the instructor: 

Chin Lin started pottery in the early 1980's.  In addition to teaching at LexArt, he has taught pottery classes at MIT Student Arts Association, Ceramics Studio at UC Berkeley as well as Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College over the last thirty years.  Chin is a registered architect by training, but his art work has been accepted in the American Craft Council's flagship show at Baltimore for both wholesale and retail shows. At LexArt he is known for making large forms.
