Description:
Drawing is making marks. Masters, like Degas, will be our guides as we study making marks like a master. We'll take a close look at their drawings and use the same mark making techniques in this session. Have FUN learning to Master the Mark, develop pencil control, use light and shadow to give form, and play with a variety of mark making materials.
Note: There will be no class on June 21
Materials:
Students should bring the following supplies:
- Drawing Paper
- Toned Paper
- Pencils (2B, 2H, and 4B)
- Kneaded Eraser
- White Vinyl Eraser
- Vine charcoal
- White chalk pencil
- Other drawing media as desired
About the instructor:
Susan is orgininally from Massachusetts but for thirty years she lived in Utah, Oregon, New Jersey, and Virginia before moving to Reading, MA. Susan earned a B.S. in Design from Brigham Young University, a Post Baccalaureate Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and a Museum Studies Master’s Degree from Harvard Extension. In addition, she is a Certified Zentagle® Teacher. Her artwork has been shown in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.
