Description:

We will introduce you to our sewing machines! You will learn how to:

  • Thread the machine

  • Wind and change the bobbin

  • Change the feet

  • Change the stitch length and width

  • Change from straight stitch to zigzag/other stitches

  • Basic machine sewing tips


Note: 

-This special version of our intro class is also suitable for those who just want a refresher workshop because this class includes a bonus project: Scrap Fabric Coasters. Made of bright colored fabric scraps, pieces of iron-on batting, and iron-on vinyl, you can sew one or more to practice your sewing skills.  All materials provided.

Cheryl Moreau teaches sewing and textile arts at HATCH, Watertown’s Maker’s Space, sponsored by the Watertown Free Library; see the website http://www.watertownlib.org/hatch. Her special interests include textile history, knitting, fabric printing, and designing with everyday objects and scrap materials.
