Description: 

This workshop is open to all skill levels, focusing on wheel-throwing techniques for creating lidded forms. We'll explore making reliquaries, urns, ring boxes, pickling pots, teapots, and any other piece that requires a top.

This workshop is for those looking to refine specific skills or learn new techniques. Time will be set aside for tailored demonstrations based on participant requests. Practice clay will be provided.

Prerequisites: Basic wheel knowledge helpful, but not necessary. 

Note:

-In this class students will practice making different kinds of lids. If there is a piece or pieces made in class that a student wants bisque fired, that student may pay LexArt's standard firing fees (2 cents per cubic inch, minimum cost $1).

About the instructor: 

Carmela Fratus is the LexArt Ceramics Studio Manager. Her passion is sharing her knowledge and experience with curious makers and artists of all levels. Carmela creates and teaches in her Chelmsford studio, Center Ceramics which operates within Nova Art Studios.
