Description: This low bench is influenced by eastern style woodworking and from the rest of the continent. Unlike US and UK where all woodworking is done standing up, in the rest of the world, most woodworking benches are low, as the woodworker works sitting down during the process. These benches will be basic canvas by which you can modify them to suit your needs.
Note:
-This class takes place May 30 and May 31st.
-All registered students who are not members of LexArt's woodworking studio will be asked to sign a safety waver.
About the instructor: Palo Coleman grew up in Northern California where he spent a lot of time in the woods, taught himself building skills and developed an interest in small-scale living. Now living with his wife and family in Cambridge, he continues to experiment in myriad woodworking techniques and is a tiny-house builder. Past projects include a living playground in Waitsfield, Vermont’s elementary school; making a vertical garden system; constructing medieval games for the Fuller Craft Museum; and developing a portable studio with Japanese-wood siding. He has an obsession with how things work and are put together, and he likes to bring that obsession into classroom and woodworking shop.
