Description:
This workshop is designed for the student who would like to add color to their process.
Week one students will learn to make colored clay (please bring a mask and gloves). Students will be
layering the color and working on the wheel for exciting results. Everyone will slab, pinch or mold a cup or bowl.
During week two students will trim their wheel thrown work and/or carve and clean for finishing, and add handles, or feet for slab constructed work.
Prerequisites:
Students are expected to have some basic knowledge of clay
Note: Remember to bring a mask and gloves to class one.
About the instructor:
Lisa Dolliver has been working with colored porcelain since 1995 after being introduced during a workshop with master potter Makoto Yabe. She has been a professional potter, teacher of ceramics and proprietor of Earth Changes Pottery since 1998. She has taught several colored clay workshops in Massachusetts since 2001.
