Description:  This round basket is made of reed with seagrass trim and is great for all levels of basket weavers. Weave the round base using twining, after which we will switch to plain weaving for the sides. The rim will be finished with either a single or double treatment. Participants will have choices in the basket size and color elements. The materials are included in the class fee and can create a basket 6” or 7” in diameter, and 4.5” to 6” tall.

Note:

-This is a 4 hour workshop, so bring a bag lunch or snack and a drink if you like.

-This class is for all levels of experience, ages 12 and up.

About the instructor: Betsy Fell first learned to weave baskets in the Adirondacks. Basketry is an old craft that offers a way to create something functional, long-lasting, and beautiful. Weaving baskets is a lot of fun because there are always new techniques to learn, new ideas to explore, and endless possibilities for design.
