Drawn to tactility and serendipity, I appreciate the way the cyanotype process is slow, ethereal, spiritual and ultimately ephemeral. Happy surprises, and the promise held by chance keep me at it, while failure propels me toward new possibilities. Images emerge exposing ordinary objects collected from my gardens, or stitching together the more successful elements of particular prints, discarding the rest, in an effort to regain control in the face of entropy. I mark time -- seasons, equinoxes, solstices and harvests through cyanotyping.
