When the shutdown started, people suddenly discovered the woods and the intensified traffic quickly took its toll on trails and tree roots. I consoled myself that fall and winter would lay down a fresh carpet of healing leaves and branches. This is my memorial to the planet's ability to adapt and repair itself from the terrible injury humans inflict. On both a micro and macro level, I hope it's not too late.
